Our Independent Living program is designed to help individuals who have recently lost part or all of their vision to gain the essential skills needed to perform daily living tasks independently. We focus on practical, hands-on training that builds confidence and promotes self-reliance.

Eligibility

Who Qualifies for Independent Living Services?

Our Independent Living program is available to individuals who:

  • Have an uncorrectable visual impairment that significantly affects daily activities
  • Are residents of Hillsborough, Polk, or Hardee counties
  • Are motivated to learn independent living skills
  • Can benefit from adaptive training and techniques
  • Are 18 years or older (for adult services)
